Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the grand opening of Puzzle Box Top!!! It has been fun over this past year to update this blog (as time allows...and things of interest occur). Here's to many more years of memories!

I came across something to this effect recently: "The 2000's are calling and they want their phone back!" This comment was repeated on two or three different phone reviews I read on the Internet. These were not reviews covering the latest flagship smartphones from the likes of Apple or Samsung. No, these were write-ups covering flip phones, (aka dumbphones or feature phones), in 2024!

Why the coverage of these relics of a bygone era? The reason is simple. There is still a market for them...and I, for one, am onboard! All the current 90's and Y2K trends aside, I have had an uneasy relationship with smartphones for quite some time. Every time my previous daily driver would receive an update, I would spend up to a half-hour going through and changing the settings back to where I wanted them to try to retain a modicum of security and privacy. Many was the occasion I bemoaned this process to Laurel.

When the latest update notification came up on my phone and I read through some of the verbiage about what was contained in the update, it was the last straw. By the end of the week, I was the proud owner of a brand new flip phone! While I cannot claim this to be true for the masses, I can safely say that I have entered the post-smartphone era...and I love it!
