Travels: The End

November road trip...the last entry!

And so, after five days and four nights, Matt was re-united with his family and a new chapter in their lives was begun. I stayed an extra day after we arrived and had a chance to get down to the beach for the sunset. It was a very fitting end to a great trip!

Definitely wouldn't be doing this in Utah in November!

First Day of Spring!
MARCH 19, 2024
Happy first day of spring! I really enjoy the changing of the seasons. Each one has its own distinct characteristics, yet they even differ from themselves year after year. As winter wound down, I finished reading The Girl From Johnnycake Hill and am now over half-way through Johnny Tremain.

One finished...one in progress
Travels: Day 5
MARCH 11, 2024
Wrapping up the November road trip...

The fifth day of our travels found us leaving out of Macon, Georgia, headed for Florida. It was exciting to know we were on the home stretch! The weather continued to get warmer and palm trees started appearing along the sides of the freeway as we headed south. As the sun was setting, we arrived in Naples. There we were given a warm welcome by some mutual friends, Jasen and Helen, and Matt's family. We ate and talked for a while and then headed off to get some sleep, thankful for a great trip!

New Year part deux!
MARCH 6, 2024
It is definitely true that we don't know what a day will bring!...(or a week, month, or year). This year has definitely been off to a serious start, with a death in the family and a memorial service in mid-February. Then, we ended up having to put down our little dog a couple of days ago. Neither of these situations was easy, but God has remained faithful through it all. He is still on the throne and He is still good! What a comfort to walk through these kinds of trials as His children, knowing that He is in complete control.

In many ways it feels like we need to reboot the New Year and get started again! I know this is true for me in the things I wanted to accomplish this year. So, it's back to the gym, back to learning the violin, back to reading, back to the hobbies, etc. Unless we have another major life event in the near future, look for more regular posts here on the blog.
